How soon after I leave the hospital will I receive a bill?
You can expect a bill once we have received payment or denial of payment from your insurance company. If you are registering without an insurance carrier, you should receive a bill within 10 – 15 business days.
Why am I getting multiple bills from one hospital visit?
Depending on the type of care you received, you may have separate hospital accounts with different account numbers.Some examples of hospital services, which may be billed separately, are; inpatient stays, outpatient labs, and emergency room visits.
You may also receive separate bills from physicians and other providers involved in your care. Some physicians are not employed by the hospital and professional fees may be charged to you separately. These may include services provided by F&S Radiology, and your personal physician.
What form of payment do you accept?
Sierra Kings Health Care District accepts cash, check, traveler’s checks, money orders, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
I keep getting bills from you. Why don’t you bill my insurance company?
If you are covered under an insurance policy or another party is responsible for your hospital bill and you receive a letter stating that you are responsible for the bill, contact the Billing department at (559) 638-8155. Please be prepared to provide your patient account number, which you will find at the top of your bill and your insurance information. Your patient Financial Services Representative will re-issue a bill to your insurance company.
If I don’t have any insurance, how do I know how much to pay?
You may contact the Billing Department at (559) 638-8155 prior to your services, to get an estimated cost. Additionally you may contact the Billing Department for the balance on your account at any time.
I am worried about my hospital bill, does the hospital offer any type of Financial Assistance options?
If you believe you might have difficulty paying your hospital bill, please contact the Patient Financial Services department at (559) 638-8155 ext. 1206. A representative will be glad to help you with any financial counseling and will answer any questions you may have regarding the payment. If you are unable to pay your hospital bill, Financial Counselor will determine if you are eligible for a fee reduction or discounted service through our Financial Assistance Program.

During your hospital stay, please contact a Financial Counselor at (559) 638-8155 ext. 1206. If you have questions after you have left the hospital, please contact Billing Department at (559) 638-8155. Our hours are Mon – Friday 8:00am –5:00pm.
